MARINER’S COMPASS
This small tapestry intends to show the procedures involved in the act of weaving. It is, therefore, eminently vertical and is purposefully unfinished. It gives the spectator the possibility of observing a part of the finished tapestry, leaving the other half with the mesh of threads still visible, together with the tools that served to perform this work, used to perform the Gobelins technique. It seems to encompass the idea that every individual always has the instruments necessary to attaining new goals and discover in himself the impulse to make his dreams and aspirations come true.
